Dispensary
The University Dispensary at Community Science College & Research Institute, Madurai is functioning with one part time Medical Officer, one Staff Nurse, one Pharmacist, and one Nursing Assistant. The University Dispensary is well equipped with emergency equipments such as AMBU bag, nebulizer, pulse oximeter, glucometer, and other basic equipments such as infusion stand, dressing trolley, autoclave, and other day to day dispensing medicines for treating minor ailments. A ward with cot and mattress is available for out patients and emergency .The dispensary organizes medical camps in collaboration with college and staff club to conduct eye camp, women health care camp, Diabetes day. In collaboration with Primary Health Centre of Ayilankudi regularly organizing National Pulse Polio campaign every year to the children’s residing inside the campus. National de-worming programme. Rendered the medical services during the Intercollegiate sports meet. NSS students were trained on First Aid services. The dispensary services were utilized by the Students and laborers, residents of staff quarters and Staff from various departments of Community Science College and Research Institute (CSC & RI) and Agricultural College and Research Institute (AC & RI), Madurai. As a part of vector control programme, periodical campus cleanliness carried out with the help of sanitary office and Primary Health Center workers. In case of any emergency due to any unknown bite the victims were accompanied by the dispensary staff and were taken to the Othakkadai PHC or GH, Madurai, by utilizing our University Ambulance for referral services. During the academic year 2018-2019 till date nearly 7913 Patients (including students, laborers, staffs and the residents of the college campus) were benefited with medical and nursing services.
The staff of the dispensary contributes their services for the clinical study conducted by the Community Science College and Research Institute.
