109th Students club activities

The 109th Students’ Club was inaugurated on 30th November, 2019 by Dr. N. Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. The 109th students club comprises of ten societies viz., Tamizh Mandram, Literary club, Dramatics club, Orchestra, Arts & Photography, Tatler Group, Social Service League, MASU, Compeering club, and Sports & games club. The office bearers of the 109th students club took charge on 30.11.2019. The students club fosters a sense of unity and social responsibility among the students with a competitive spirit. All the office bearers and members have actively contributed for the successful conduct of various student activities under a single umbrella “109th students club”.

Pongal Vizha, 2020 was celebrated on 11th January 2020 at University stadium. Several University officers graced the function. The students of various departments participated in various competitions like pongal making, Sack race, lemon and spoon, Uri Adithal.

To participate in the grand cultural bonanza and agri-youth festival “AGRI UNIFEST, 2020” organized by ICAR is a pride for every State Agricultural University. A team of 21 students, 2 staffs and 3 accompanists represented the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in the 20th All India Inter Agri-Unifest Event held at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (IGKVV), Raipur from Feb 8, 2020 to Feb 12, 2020.

Our university students participated in various intercollege cultural events and have come out in flying colours. TNAU students participated in “Karishma 2020” held at PSGR Krishanmal College for Women, Coimbatore on 22nd February, 2020 and secured third price in the group dance event with a cash price of Rs. 3000/- . The over-all performance and title “Best of Karishma” was won by Ms. Madhia Natchi of IV B. Tech (Biotech) along with rolling shield and cash price of Rs.7000/-. TNAU students participated in the state level inter college cultural event “AVEGHA 2020” held at Avinashilingam Institute of Home Science on 27th February, 2020”. With a wide array of talent exhibition, the students won prizes in most of the events such as Solo song, Group Song, Solo Dance, Group Dance, Photography, Hair styling, Mehendi etc. As a high light, TNAU bagged the overall championship of AVEGHA 2020 and came home with the rolling cup for the second consecutive year.
