- Yuva Sangam flagship program of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) initiative, launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India with a motto of connecting youth from different parts of the country through educational and cultural exchanges.

TNAU & ITC Teamed up to promote "Water for all today and tomorrow"

- TNAU & ITC Limited have teamed up under a memorandum of agreement to promote ‘Water for all today and tomorrow’.
- focus areas include validating crop demand management practices in Coimbatore and Pudukkottai districts, and conducting a socio-economic impact survey on households covered under ITC’s Social Investment Program.
- Mr. Venkat Rao, ITC Unit Head, ITC PSPD, Mr. Mahidhar Babu, HR Head, ITC PSPD, Mr. Manish Kumar, Program Manager, and Mr. Dinesh Moorthy, represented ITC in this collaboration.
- Dr. Somasundaram, Director ABD and Agronomist, endorsed this consultancy project initiative.
One Student – One Farm Family Programme (OS-OFFP)

- Honorable Vice-Chancellor launched the novel scheme of One student One Farm Family programme and interacted with farmers and students.
- One student will be attached with one farm family so that the student will gain hands on experience from farmers by visiting their field and interaction with farmer’s family members.
- The farmers are receiving TNAU information through the attached students. The students will visit the fields along with the academic counsellors during different cropping season.
One Day Special Programme on Energy Conservation and Efficiency
- Inaugural session of the One Day Special Programme on Energy Conservation and Efficiency – Opportunities and Benefits organized by Mr. ARUL K, President of The Coimbatore Productivity Council – India.
- The event highlighted the state-of-the-art research, collaborations, and infrastructure in the Renewable Energy Engineering sector at TNAU.
- The program aimed to enhance awareness and importance in productivity, quality, safety, and human resources.
- The event successfully engaged and attracted participation from over 100 industrialists.

UK – India Workshop on Knowledge exchange on Dairy Technologies and energy efficiency in Indian Dairy units

- UK – India Workshop on Knowledge exchange on Dairy Technologies and energy efficiency in Indian Dairy units was jointly organized by University of Exeter and Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Coimbatore,
- Teesside University, UK and Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai on 12.12.2023 at AEC&RI Seminar Hall. Dr. Raviraj, Dean (Agrl. Engg.) delivered the welcome address and stated that the workshop will explore the sustainable model of dairy farming especially concerning small, marginal, and landless farmers and opportunities in market expansion for the dairy industry.
- Professor Tapas Mallick, University of Exeter, England, UK gave an introduction about the workshop and the significance of dairy farming in UK and in India.
- Dr. R. Thamizh Vendan, Registrar, TNAU inaugurated the workshop and emphasized that this workshop will result in high-technology dairy production alternatives that can lead to not only relatively short returns on investment, but also significantly lower operation costs through reduced energy and water consumption, increased operational hours, and overall, less cleaning and maintenance needed.
- Dr. Senthilarasu Sundaram, Teesside University, UK concluded the inauguration function with a vote of thanks.

Data Science in Agriculture FDP at PS&IT TNAU AEC&RI, Coimbatore
- The Department of Physical Sciences and IT at TNAU’s AEC&RI celebrated the successful initiation of its Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Data Science in Agriculture.
- Faculty from AICTE Approved Institutes in Tamil Nadu and beyond participated, emphasizing the regional and national significance of the program, sponsored by AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy.
- Dr. E. Somasundaram, Director of Agribusiness Development, delivered an insightful inaugural address, providing an overview of TNAU’s pioneering work in Data Science.
- Dr. Raviraj Ayyavoo, Dean of AEC&RI, highlighted the crucial role of data science in agriculture, felicitating and acknowledging participants.
- Dr. Balaji Kannan, Professor and Head of the Department of Physical Sciences & IT, presented a comprehensive overview of the FDP schedule, introducing esteemed resource persons.
- Dr. C.S. Sumathi, Professor, expressed gratitude and delivered the vote of thanks, recognizing the collaborative efforts that ensured the event’s success.
- The faculty of the Department of Physical Sciences and IT is commended for organizing this insightful FDP, contributing to academic and research excellence in agricultural sciences at TNAU.
